Buy What You Want or Need

Makes sense doesn’t it?  If your business wants or needs a particular product, service or approach to solve a specific business requirement, you’d think that is what you’d buy.  When it comes to SEO, SEM or other Internet/Digital Marketing initiatives, you probably didn’t or won’t actually do that when push comes to shove.

As an ethical SEO company, time and time again I come head to head with businesses in the Kitchener/Waterloo area who have specific needs but because they listen to so called ‘experts’ who talk fast and throw a lot of jargon around, they end up buying something that may be isn’t the ideal product/service for their business’ goals.  Worse yet, they assume that every product/service by the same name, is the same.  Oh how wrong they are.

Let’s look at a simple example – painting your car.

If paint shop A, B and C all paint cars, why would the prices be so wildly different?  Would you automatically go with the lowest price point since they all must be the same?  Would you assume that you’d get the same results no matter which paint shop you selected?

Don’t treat your business like a 1986 Chrysler K car.  Treat is like a show car.  This is your business.  This is your pride and joy.  This is your livelihood.  This is your 24/7/365 investment.  Treat your business’ digital/internet marketing endeavours as investments – not just a spur of the moment or flavour of the month idea.

With this in mind, would you paint your car at the $500 paint shop?  $3000 paint shop?If your car, or in this instance, your business, is worth your 24/7 efforts, then it is undoubtedly worth the $10,000, award winning paint job.

Sure you can cut corners with your SEO needs.  Heck, it may not be worth focusing on all 200+ elements that make up Google’s SEO algorithm, but the select ones that will drive the biggest value & impact for your business MUST be given top tier attention.

Everyday I run into competitors that offer the same crap that they’ve been pushing for 2, 3, 5 years.  Attention SEO service providers… those tactics either don’t work anymore, have had their impact significantly lessened, or will lead directly to a website being penalized.  So why the heck would you put your customer’s website, and livelihood, at stake?  Oh yes, it’s because the things you are offering to do from an SEO standpoint are cheap and easy to do – therefore keeping the price down.

Sort of like taking your show car to a paint shop where they use Tremclad paint and applying it with a roller!

Please, for the love of your business, investigate what your company needs in regards to SEO.  Here’s a hint….
