Expectations of a SEO Service Provider

Our advanced Search Engine Optimization programs are all-encompassing and take into account the way SEO in Kitchener and area is meant to be done, according to Google, today.  That may seem obvious to the casual, uninitiated observer, but this is far from what happens in reality today.

Your website is your online advertising starting point

February 20, 2013 at 1:37 pm

I don’t watch a lot of TV, but I am definitely a fan of the CBC television show Dragon’s Den, and the US version to a lesser extent, the Shark Tank.  Time and time again small business people come onto the show with their great business idea looking for money.  When the Dragon’s ask about their sales numbers, it is shocking to me just how many of them say something like, “we have sold X within Y timeframe with only having a website, no advertising.”

This hurts me every time I hear it.  A properly designed website (containing proper SEO architecture) is your key to online advertising.  A website IS your company’s advertising.

January 31, 2013 at 10:33 am

From the small business perspective, ‘marketing’ can mean many different things.  Disciplines such as Online/Internet Marketing, Search Engine Optimization and Digital Branding didn’t exist just a few short years ago.  Does that mean the old way all of a sudden doesn’t work?

The Good, Bad and Ugly in 2012

December 24, 2012 at 3:10 pm

Since the world didn’t actually end this past week as the Mayans ‘predicted’, I thought a rehash of the good, bad and ugly in both terms of Search Engine Optimization and the world in general, was a great exercise to do as I lay around enjoying all that this Christmas season has to offer… family, friends, lots of home-made treats and thoughts of the real meaning of Christmas.

November 21, 2012 at 2:49 pm

Do you want more more traffic?  Do you want more quality traffic?  Do you want to control costs?  Do you want to increase brand awareness?  If you answer ‘yes’, then it is.

If it were only that simple though.  PPC/SEM/Adwords may be good for your business, but if it is at the expense of Search Engine Optimization, the answer should be a resounding ‘no’.

Who are my competitors

September 12, 2012 at 11:52 pm

I was recently speaking with a business owner who had launched a new website to specifically push accessories in the online space versus their traditional brick and mortar location. When asked who he felt was his competition was, he listed 4-5 businesses within 5-100km of his store’s location. We then went to his computer, typed into Google the name of his best-selling product and got a SERP containing over 380,000 results.

Now there… there is your competition.

There are no Participation Badges for Social Media, Search Engine Optimization or any other forms of Internet Marketing. Just doing it isn’t good enough. It MUST be done right or it could have the absolute opposite effect you are looking for.

One Step Search Engine Optimization

July 9, 2012 at 3:46 pm

As SEO has become more ‘trendy’, more companies that have a ‘tech’ background have thrown their hat in the ring to offer search engine optimization services to their clients.  They treat it just a retail store up-selling your purchase with a benefit added product.  The problem is, SEO isn’t an up-sell to simply having one more of their products – SEO is an essential component to ensure your online success.
