3 Elements of Search Engine Optimization

February 8, 2012 at 6:41 am

Although Google takes into consideration approximately 250 items when determining how important your website is, they can all be grouped into the following elements:

  1. Proper Website Design/Architecture – a website needs to be constructed in such a way that any of the search engines (Google, Bing, etc.) can easily determine the message & relevancy of a website
  2. Website Copy/Content – ‘Content is King’… this industry refrain embodies the fact that the actual text, the amount, the quality, where it is and how it is written, are all taken into consideration in determining how important/relevant a webpage is
  3. Incoming Links/Backlinks – these are the points of reference search engines use to determine if others feel your website is of value

The backbone of all these items is proper research.  Without it, dappling in these various areas can cloud the picture search engines have of your site, which leads to them dropping you further down the search results.

Although you can work on a number of these items yourself as a business owner, it may be best to have a professional deal with such a matter.  If it is worth doing, it is worth doing right.  If you want to discuss your SEO goals and business requirements, please contact us via email or phone to arrange a one on one meeting.

Web Design / Development packages

February 8, 2012 at 6:40 am

Our clients in the Waterloo, Kitchener, Cambridge, Guelph and surrounding areas need a variety of options when it comes to their website design and development needs. Some clients are very budget conscientious while some will do everything they can to ensure they are at least two steps ahead of their competition, while others need to keep both ideals in mind.

The experience and expertise that Advanced Web Solutions offers allows us to cater a package specifically for you that will help your business achieve its exact goals without the big city pricing. We will provided you with all of our options yet we will layout a proposal that takes into consideration your goals and will provide you maximum value for your dollar.

We do not make it a practice of responding to inquiries simply asking for a price on project ‘X’. We feel it is very important, and prudent, to sit down with a prospective client to determine exactly what you want and what your business requires. Every project is different and requires a different level of need which can change the pricing of a project. What may seem like a simple matter, may very well require additional resources and could add to a final cost greater than expected.

This is exactly the reason why we prefer to discuss your exact needs so that we can provide you a FIXED price on your website or SEO project. Too often in this industry, businesses receive and ‘initial quote’ which doesn’t remotely resemble the final invoice. We despise that approach and will work to avoid such potential pitfalls in your website design & development program.

Feel free to contact use today to arrange a time that works best for you to meet to discuss the specific needs of your business. If you are outside of our immediate area (Guelph, Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge) in the areas of Toronto, GTA, Milton, London, Stratford and surrounding areas, we can have our initial discussion via phone or still meet in person in order to get a better feel for each other. Contact us today for more information.

What you should be looking for in a new website

February 8, 2012 at 6:40 am

Most every business wants an attractive, eye-catching website that conveys the visual image they wish prospective customers to have of their organization. We 100% agree that your business’ website should be ‘pretty’… but pretty doesn’t mean it works and unfortunately, most companies in the Kitchener/Waterloo/Cambridge/Guelph area who initially approach us are mostly concerned with how attractive their site is or should be.

Pretty is great, but is a long way from what your business needs to add additional revenue.

Making a site attractive is very subjective – beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so each and every person will have their own specific idea of what is constitutes an attractive website. What a business needs is a website that that is built in such a manner that the search engines (Google, Bing, etc.) will find your website relevant to the inquiries of their users – and your prospective customers. If they don’t think your site it relevant, or more relevant than your competitor’s site, they will be served higher in the search results and will be encouraged to go to them instead of you. Because of this, would you say that it is FAR more important for your website to actually work towards the same end goal as your business?

‘Working’ is the new pretty!

Feel free to contact us to arrange a time that is convenient for you to meet with us to discuss what your true business requirements are in order to make your business successful through SEO and a properly designed, SEO-friendly website.

We put together a 8 part feature in regards to what you should be looking for in a proper SEO program.  Part 8 speaks to some of the items to take into consideration in regards to SEO and your website design.
